Bring researchers into your classroom and give students a window into the process of scientific inquiry. Join us for an informal chat with scientists from Sonoma State University and Sonoma Water studying how climate change is affecting the Russian River Watershed. Come explore this fascinating topic through both an academic and applied lens while hearing about who these scientists are, how they got interested in watershed research, and their scientific goals and questions. Instructor’s guide available.
Featuring scientists from Sonoma State University and Sonoma Water, including Anne Crealock, Environmental Specialist with Sonoma Water
Supported by: Center for Environmental Inquiry, Sonoma State University; Orchard View School; Sonoma County Library; Sonoma Water
“Live from the Field” events are 50-60 minute events where researchers at multiple sites describe their interests and research in 8-10 minute videos, then participants join a live moderated Q&A session with the researchers. Events are recorded for asynchronous instructional use, and available to all at thevirtualfield.org/virtual-visits/live-from-the-field. In this event, researchers will talk about their work on fire and controlled burns as they relate to water and climate change and more.
