Sentinel Site Tour – Weather Station

Why is it important for Pepperwood to measure precipitation, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, temperature, humidity, and soil moisture? Learn about our OneRain gauge – part of the Sonoma Water Emergency Alert system, as well as how monitoring the weather can help us be better prepared for natural disasters like wildfire and flooding.
This weather station was established in 2010 in collaboration with Drs. Lorrie and Alan Flint of the United States Geological Survey, or USGS.
