On the shores of Kentucky Lake, the largest reservoir east of the Mississippi River, we see evidence of shoreline erosion and wind/wave action. Kentucky Dam was constructed in 1945 to create the last reservoir on the Tennessee River. The reservoir is almost 300 km long and is over 3 km wide at its widest point.
