Herring Gut Costal Science Center: Site 1 Summer 2024 – Drift Inn Beach Intertidal Zone

We are immersed in the intertidal zone of Drift Inn Beach in Port Clyde, Maine, about one mile (1.6 km) from Herring Gut Coastal Science Center. We have two 6-hour tide cycles in one day. Tide differentials in Port Clyde, Maine range from 8 to 12 feet (2.4 to 3.7 m) within one cycle.
