Sequoia Field Station: Site 1 Summer 2025 – Wolverton Meadow

Here we stand in an sub-alpine meadow surrounded by mixed conifer forest. Wolverton Meadow sits at about 7,000 feet above sea level in Sequoia National Park. This area was developed for nordic and downhill skiing during the mid 20th century, but has since been decomissioned partly due to typical freezing levels rising up slope in the Sierra. It remains a popular snow play area.
