Here we are on the Baruch Marine Field Lab boardwalk at the “upland” edge of the salt marsh in North Inlet. Vegetation is typical salt marsh vegetation in our area. Water levels are tidal. Very high tides and storm surges will cover the boardwalk. Cedars are on old beach ridges. Trees in the far distance are mainly coastal pines: Loblolly pine, Pond pine, and some Longleaf pine.
