Bernard Field Station: Site 1 Spring 2025 – California Sage Scrub

In September 2013, a fire burned the sage scrub vegetation at this site. Looking north, you can see the edge of the fire scar with intact vegetation composed with elevated densities of sage brush. In this area we study how fire impacts plant and animal diversity and how different restoration efforts help enhance native biodiversity.
