Bernard Field Station: Site 2 Spring 2025 – California Sage Scrub

In May 2017, a fire burned a small portion of the Bernard Field Station. You are standing at the edge of the fire scar allowing you to see different vegetation in an area that burned and in an area that has not burned for at least the last 40 years. In this area, we have experiments that explore how herbivores impact recovery of the vegetation.
