Blackwater Wetland Restoration Site: Site 1 Autumn 2022 – Lake Outlet

Here we are on the campus of the University of Lynchburg with a view of the lower end of College Lake and the dam that creates it. Blackwater Creek exits the mouth of the lake here. Starting in early 2023, the dam will be removed, and we will observe significant changes at this site as Blackwater Creek is restored as a meandering channel through the old lakebed and dam.
