Field Research Centre: Site 2 Spring 2022 – Quarry Lake

After intense coal mining activities, the land was given back to nature. The earth was dug up till a depth of 800m and stored on slag heaps. The video is taken from the top of one of these slag heaps and giving a stunning view over part of the NPHK, demonstrating mainly the pine and mixed forests. This site harbours old and new biodiversity for this area.
