You are at the lighthouse in Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island in Lake Erie, Ohio. The lighthouse grounds to the south provide valuable habitat for pollinators and stopover feeding habitat for Monarch Butterflies during their fall migration from Canada to Mexico. To the west is Green Island. The waters between South Bass and Green Island support abundant Walleye, Yellow Perch, and Walleye fisheries. It is common to see many fishing boats here. The area also supports Purple Martins and Tree Swallows which can be seen in the video.
