Small pond in the Pocono Mountain region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. We are standing on a dock extending from the shores of the pond. The surrounding riparian area is largely forested and we see the Lacawac Sanctuary Education Center in the frame. The pond is 1-2 meters deep at the deepest point.

Beaver, turtles, snakes, and osprey are also part of the pond community. Riparian vegetation is a mix of temperate hardwood species including oak, maple, birch, and beech as well as eastern hemlock and white pine.
