Meet a Scientist: Research Director of a Biological Field Station

The Meet a Scientist initiative is a series of interviews with scientists representing a range of fields and disciplines in the natural sciences and beyond. The interviews are a part of the Pathways in Ecological Research (PiER) mentoring program at Lacawac Sanctuary Biological Field Station and Environmental Education Center in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania. PiER focuses on providing high-achieving high school students with rigorous field and laboratory experiences. Meet the Scientist interviews feature scientists from many different jobs and with a variety of career paths. They chat about what got them interested in science, their academic journey, and what advice they have for students interested in STEM careers. In this interview, the Research Director of Lacawac Sanctuary shares how her love of the outdoors as a child led her to a career in ecology.
