A bog along the shore of a glacial lake in the Pocono Mountain region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. We are standing on a boadwalk with the bog on either side. The soils are acidic and poorly drained and the water is dark in color, stained by dissolved organic material leached from the soil. A lysimeter used to collect groundwater is visible.
